Meet The Team

Tessa is a registered Industrial & Organisational Psychologist and has been working in the Human Resources field since 1996. Her experience was obtained in both small business enterprises and large multinational corporates. She started in Communication & Information Science as undergraduate, has a Doctoral degree in Industrial Psychology from North-West University and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at University of South Africa. She is a SAQA accredited OBE Workplace Assessor and a certified Trauma Counsellor with the South African Institute for Traumatic Stress (SAITS). Tessa’s main interest is bringing people and structures together to create effectively functioning systems.

Theuns is passionate about economics and how it can be used to explain human wellbeing. He has been involved in analysing the Global and South African economy and financial markets since 2001. He is currently leading the Macro Strategy and Portfolio teams at one of South Africa’s financial institutions. Before moving to the South African financial sector, he was part of the faculty in the School of Economics at the University of Pretoria where he specialised in international macroeconomics and econometrics. He holds a Doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Pretoria, a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto and has completed the International Executive Development Programme through the Bank SETA in partnership with Duke University in the USA. Theuns’ main interest lies in conducting research on a variety of subjects in the field of economics. His role at IDEA is in an advisory capacity to provide insight and business guidance.
